Product Thinking Done Right: From Fake Timelines to Real Outcomes – Ravi Sandhu

Many teams claim to be Agile, yet continue to operate with fixed timelines, rigid roadmaps, and an overemphasis on delivery. This creates an illusion of progress while often leading to misaligned priorities, wasted effort, and products that fail to deliver real value.

In this talk, Ravi Sandhu challenges the common practice of “delivery theatre” , where teams commit to plans based on assumptions rather than validated learning. Drawing on over two decades of experience across engineering and product leadership, Ravi explores why traditional approaches to planning and roadmapping fall short in complex environments, and how they limit an organisation’s ability to build better products.

The session introduces a shift towards true product thinking: focusing on problems instead of features, outcomes instead of outputs, and learning instead of certainty. Attendees will gain practical insights into reframing roadmaps as evolving hypotheses, improving stakeholder alignment, and enabling teams to deliver value with greater confidence.

By aligning with the theme “Build Better Products – Sooner, Safer and Happier,” this talk will show how letting go of fake timelines can lead to faster learning, reduced risk, and more empowered teams.
