Announcing the theme for Scrum Day 2026

It’s hard to believe we’re already planning Scrum Day Nigeria 2026, especially when it feels like we just wrapped up our maiden edition! The theme for that first edition — Innovation and Products for Better Outcomes — set the stage for an exciting event that brought together over 150 participants and a wealth of ideas.

The feedback from attendees was incredible. One point that stood out, however, was the need for more sessions focused on the Scrum Framework and other Agile frameworks. We listened carefully, and that insight shaped our direction for the coming year.

For 2026, our theme is “Building Better Products – Sooner, Safer, and Happier.”

This theme draws inspiration from the Sooner Safer Happier movement founded by Jonathan Smart and Myles Ogilvie, whose ideas have influenced our convener, Sam Adesoga, in his own Agile journey.  We would like to emphasize that successful Scrum adoption should ultimately help teams deliver products sooner, safely, and foster happier, more sustainable ways of working.

Unfortunately, there’s still a lot of misunderstanding about what Scrum really is — and isn’t. That’s why Scrum Day Nigeria 2026 aims to revisit the roots of Scrum, explore how it enables consistent delivery of value, and examine complementary practices that strengthen its application.

We’re also expanding our focus. In a world where Artificial Intelligence is transforming software development, we invite speakers and practitioners who are exploring how AI tools can be integrated into Agile teams and enhance the delivery process.

It’s shaping up to be another exciting, insightful, and thought-provoking event, and we can’t wait to see you there.
